The
simple and sweet way my parents taught me how to read together. The wonderful
smells and vivid pictures I can still remember about the time when i learned
and accomplished at a stunning pace. Another big thing i could talk about would
be the struggle I have with English as a subject; to this day. I have never had
a great relationship with an English teacher and been able to say, wow they
really challenged the best out of me. In reality I can look back and remember
teachers nagging, sometimes repeatedly asking us as a whole class to do things
that we never wanted too. That was the environment of every English class I've
had from grades 6-12. Nothing or nobody has stood out, or been able to
spark interest in reading and writing for me, the way I used to get excited for
those things around the time I was five. I used to get excited when I had
writing homework (I always had to write my name as my kindergarten homework) and you could always find my
nose in a book. No one can take credit for the way my childhood was structured more than my parents. And I am sure, no one can appreciate them doing
that more than I do.
